Hockey League
The USPHL Elite is the developmental tier of the United States Premier Hockey League, designed as an entry point for younger junior-eligible players beginning their junior careers. It provides a structured environment focused on skill development and advancement, with the goal of helping players move up to the USPHL Premier and, ultimately, the National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC). In addition to climbing the junior ranks, players in the USPHL Elite are also preparing for opportunities in collegiate hockey.
With a footprint spanning the Eastern Seaboard and Midwest, the USPHL Elite emphasizes regional play to limit travel and maximize development time. Every Elite team is affiliated with at least one Premier-level program, creating built-in opportunities for internal promotion. In the 2024-25 season alone, over 300 players were called up from the Elite to the Premier division. Many organizations also field NCDC teams, offering a full developmental pathway from Elite to Premier to NCDC — all within a single organization.

Located in and around Marietta, these families open their homes—and their hearts—to provide a safe, supportive environment where players can relax, recharge, and feel truly at home. From shared meals and quiet study time to weekend activities and lifelong bonds, billet families play a vital role in each player’s junior hockey journey.
Each host family is carefully selected and screened through official USPHL background checks, ensuring a secure and nurturing environment. For parents and players alike, this offers peace of mind and the assurance of a genuine home away from home—where athletes are cared for not just as players, but as part of the family.

PLAYER ADVANCEMENT
Helping players reach the next level is a top priority for the Atlanta Madhatters coaching staff, who have guided hundreds of athletes to opportunities in the USHL, college hockey, and the pros. With a team made up of former pro, college, and junior players, the staff brings proven experience and strong networks across North America. The Madhatters also prioritize internal development, regularly promoting players from Elite to Premier and Premier to the West Chester Wolves NCDC.
