ABOUT
Niko Esposito-Selivanov brings a wealth of experience and hockey pedigree to his role as Head Coach of the Atlanta Madhatters Elite team. Born in St. Petersburg, Florida, and holding dual German-Russian citizenship, Esposito-Selivanov developed his game in Europe with Krefelder EV 1981 before moving on to Shattuck St. Mary’s, one of North America’s top prep programs. His junior career included stops in the USHL and BCHL, followed by NCAA Division I hockey at Lake Superior State University and pro experience in Germany with the Hannover Indians.
Following his retirement from playing in 2023, Esposito-Selivanov joined the MadHatters organization as an assistant coach before being promoted to Head Coach of the Elite team for the 2024–25 season. Known for his attention to detail, high hockey IQ, and commitment to player development, he is focused on building a competitive and growth-oriented culture in Atlanta.
He comes from a distinguished hockey family—his father is former NHLer Alexander Selivanov, and his grandfather is Hockey Hall of Famer Phil Esposito.
