Madhatters Drop Two against Elmira, Move to 2–2 on the Season

Sept, 26th and 27th: Atlanta Madhatters vs Elmira Impact 


The Atlanta Madhatters came up short on their weekend trip to New York, dropping back-to-back games against the Elmira Impact. The losses moved Atlanta’s record to 2–2 on the young season.


Game 1 – Friday, Sept. 26 (Elmira 2, Atlanta 1)


First Period 

Friday night was a defensive battle from the start, with both teams skating to a scoreless opening period. 


Second Period

Elmira struck first in the second when #88 Donovin Perhach buried a shot at 6:23, assisted by #95 Timothy GaNun. Just minutes later, the Impact doubled their lead as #1 Eian Robinson scored at 10:04 off a feed from Perhach.


Third Period

Atlanta kept pressing, and the breakthrough came late in the third. #23 Vincent Lattarulo netted his second goal of the season at 12:23, assisted by #44 Derek Krizman, cutting the deficit in half. Despite outshooting Elmira 31–29, the Mad Hatters couldn’t find the equalizer.


Between the Pipes

Elmira goaltender Andrew Coston was sharp with 30 saves, while Atlanta’s Foster Lavallee turned away 29 shots in the hard-fought 2–1 loss.

  • Player of the Game (Atlanta): #75 Foster Lavallee — steady in net and kept his team within striking distance all night.



Game 2 – Saturday, Sept. 28 (Elmira 5, Atlanta 2)

First Period

Saturday’s rematch saw more offensive firepower, but Elmira again struck first. 


Second Period 

#74 Devon Denman opened the scoring at 5:35 of the second, followed by Perhach’s tally just two minutes later. Atlanta’s Lattarulo answered at 18:01, cutting the lead to one, but Elmira quickly responded with another from Perhach less than 40 seconds later to make it 3–1.


Third Period

The Impact pulled away in the third period with goals from #19 Landon Kean and Denman to extend the lead. Atlanta’s #3 Marek Klos, assisted by #17 Brooklyn Whitlow and #65 Tyler Mason added a late goal at 10:43, but the Mad Hatters fell 5–2.


Between the Pipes

Goaltender Edin Delean faced a heavy workload, stopping 36 of 41 shots for Atlanta, while Elmira’s Wyatt Daugherty made 25 saves on 27 shots.
